SPOTLITE
In this latest work I have drawn from the experience of my two other major exhibitions, 'ONCE' and 'HOME'. Where they dealt with notions of time and space this exhibit designates both elements. The models now occupy the illuminated arc of the spotlight's beam only for that fraction of a second. All that these images portray is included in this confined space and in that moment.
I have included elements of Hollywood-style glamour and the faux seediness of Burlesque because these, just as much as fetish and roleplay, have been major influences on my life and my photographic style. In this work I feel I have finally found my own photographic 'voice'. It's not a development of previous work but a full departure into a new place that was created within my mind.
I am happy, proud and excited to display this work to you, the viewer, in the hope that you will find it sexy, glamorous and thought-provoking. It is, and it's meant to be, an entertainment. A celebration of women looking and feeling good, flirting and exhibiting themselves, and me thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.
